2000 Coaching Awards
AYF
Football Coach of The Year 2000
Tony Truscello has been named
American Youth Football Coach of the Year for 2000. Tony coaches the
Wallkill youth football team of thirteen-year olds. AYF
cannot say enough about this deserving individual. He is one of the founding
members of AYF dedication to our national program has
been outstanding. All of his wins in football are only secondary to his
devotion to the children in his program. He is also the program director
with the Wallkill organization and his interest is always what will benefit
all of the children.
Tony has coached all levels of football from hih
school on down to the youth level for the past twenty years. He finds the
youth level to be the most rewarding and making a difference in youth lives.
His policy has always been for his assistant coaches to find at least one
positive thing to say about each player in the course of practices. He not
only teaches the fundamentals of football, but also stresses Sportsmanship
and Class. His opponents are always impressed with the professional way his
teams conduct themselves on the field.
Tony Truscello has proven what a winner really is and
it is reflected in his fine record and the attitudes of his players. We
could probably go on and on about Tony's qualities as a coach, but, as he
would probably say, "I owe it all to the kids." American Youth Football is
proud to honor Tony Truscello as our Coach of the Year.
Jeff Hathaway, football coach of the Bridgeport, West
Virginia Little Indians, was the runner up for Football Coach of the Year
Honors. We appreciate his hard work with the Little Indians, especially with
their outstanding scholars. Jeff, we hope you will have another successful
season in 2001 and take a crack at the top honors.
