Dean Pliconas Dean Pliaconis is a role model to many old and young. Through the years he has inspired many to pursue and achieve the highest of goals. With hard work, determination, and persistence you can accomplish anything. It all began with the help of his wife, Christie of 28 years (he fathered four sons: Michael (27), Nick (24), Alexander (22), and Stephan (16). Dean started off as a truck driver and eventually became the founder and president of Plycon Transportation Group, created in 1982. He has just been celebrating the success of hard work and determination of 25 years. Despite all of the long hours of top notch service he gives to his clients, Dean still has time to give back to his community. Dean has served on the Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council as President for six years and had also been the youth director/advisor for a total of four years at Saint Katherine’s. Beyond these great things, he has also been a board member of Project Mexico and Saint Innocent Orphanage in Mexico since 1998. He has lead mission trips through his church. Dean accompanies fifteen children and teenagers from his church by bringing them to Mexico to serve the people by organizing the construction of living spaces and other structures for the orphanage and needy families. In his spare time Dean coaches his favorite sport, football. He has been a Head Coach and President for twelve years of the El Segundo Youth Football and Cheer Inc, a non-profit organization which is part of the Pacific Coast Conference. Dean has won Coach of the Year twice within the Conference in 2002 & 2006. He also received the honor to be the National Coach of the Year in 2006 through American Youth Football. Throughout the years Dean has lead his team to win many titles. Dean owes all of his success to both of his parents, Arthur and Paras, as well as his Grandfather and Grandmother for all that they have taught him; work ethics and morals. Dean, has been apart of the Pacific Coast Conference in many capacities for the past 25 years. Dean was asked to speak at a USC Coaches Clinic on March 24, 2007, as the ONLY Youth Football Coach speaking along side football coaches from major universities. Dean, spoke on making football fun, and the LOVE for kid’s and family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
