A Word from the 2010 AYF All-Star Coaches

Giving Glory and Honor to GOD and my Savior JESUS CHRIST let me say thank you. I have been blessed to play the most amazing game on earth, this game is Football. I thought playing the game was the best experience one could have and wining a championship ring was the best that could happen to someone, I was wrong. Coaching these young men the game of Football has truly been the most fulfilling experience that one person could possibly achieve. Trophies, rings, plaques are all great awards, but in coaching I have received rewards far greater than any awards I could possibly receive. When we allow ourselves to open up and listen we can be such a positive influence in the life of these young men. I can say without a doubt that football relates to life and we can help develop these young men and teach more than just football. Last year as an assistant coach for the East Team I was able to help a young man through a horrible event in his life the day before the game. Most would have not played the next day, but he did and performed greatly. Joy over took my thoughts and feelings and made me feel whole.      

I was selected as the East All Star Coach this year. I was excited and nervous but I still wanted to give these young men the best experience they could have. To see the respect that these young men have for the game and the coaches reflects the values and morals that have been instilled in them by their parents and loved ones. I want to thank all the parents for allowing me the pleasure of coaching their young men during the Under Armour American Youth Football All Star weekend. To all the coaching staff; thank you for your teamwork to make this one of the most exciting game ever. A special thanks to American Youth Football, Cheer, President Joe Galat, Commissioner Bill Brown and National Executive Director Jessica Abramovich for their commitment to the players and cheerleaders. Also, I would like to thank Under Armour for their efforts in providing the opportunity and the gear for AYF and AYC Athletes. Thank you Coaching Staff from the West Coast and players for a great game.

The Under Armour AYF All-Star Game is a great opportunity that brings together all aspects of the American Youth Football experience. It brings together the National Office, Regional Allocations, and Association Coaches and Players. The amazing part is how everyone comes together in such a short timeframe to produce a very educational and quality product. The players learn so much in regards to competing and understanding teamwork. At the same time the discussion and influence of high academic and personal character standards close the loop on the entire experience. The players and coaches built lifelong friendships and respect for all areas and everyone understood the quality and importance of all the individuals that are involved with American Youth Football and Cheer from all aspects, from the National President to the team Business Manager. I encourage anyone that is presented with the opportunity to be involved in this event to accept and enjoy the experience. On behalf of the entire West coaching staff, players, and families, we were truly honored to be a part of the 2010 Under Armour AYF All Star Game!
