Q: What is Football Financial Aid?

A: Football Financial Aid is a registered trademark of American Youth Football and is a "Giving back" program developed and administered by American Youth Football to benefit individual participants, teams, leagues and communities youth (american) football programs. We recognize the value and impact organized team sports has on youth and their development into productive members of society and that too many children don't have the opportunity to play football in a safe well equipped and properly supervised way.



Q: Who is American Youth Football?


A: American Youth Football is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 1996, We are national youth partners with the NFL and are the largest youth football and cheer organization in the country with approximately 450,000 participants, ages 5-16 with leagues in all 50 States, Mexico, Canada and Western Europe.
 

Q: When and why was football Financial Aid Created?

A: Football Financial Aid was created in 2007 in an effort to reduce the financial burden for those kids and their families for whom the expense associated with playing football impeded on the quality of the overall participatory experience.

Our goal is "Universal Participation" wherein every child that wants to play football should have the opportunity to do so in a safe, well equipped and properly supervised manner.



Q: Who runs/administers football financial aid?

A: American Youth Football a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation administers the Football Financial Aid Program.
 

Q: Where does your funding come from?

A: Our funding comes from individual donors, corporations, non-profit organizations, foundations, trusts, endowments, charitable bequests, and government and private grants.
 

Q: What percentage of my donation actually benefits the youth participants/programs?

A: In most instances a minimum of 80% of donations received by American Youth Football for the Football Financial Aid program benefit youth participants programs. We are subject to significant costs associated with administering the Football Financial Aid program, including hosting our website, credit card fees on your donations, mailing costs, postage, personnel, rent, bank fees, accountant and legal fees and other administrative costs. As the total amount of donated funds increases we expect to be able to reduce the costs of administering the Program on a percentage per dollar basis.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: Yes. American Youth Football a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation administers Football Financial aid. Our tax status can be verified on the Internal Revenue Service website at:

Q: Are Football Financial Aid programs available only to members of American Youth Football?

A: No. Football Financial Aid programs are available to youth football programs regardless of their affiliation or membership in American Youth Football.

*However, certain programs described herein and administered by American Youth Football and underwritten by the National Football League among others are exclusively for the benefit of members of American Youth Football, including but not limited to Local Agency Grants, AYF National Championship Travel Grants, and the AYF Shoe for Study Program.
 

Q: Who is eligible and who can apply to receive benefits from Football Financial Aid?

A: Youth football (american rules) programs, participants, communities and schools are eligible to receive benefits. We will in our review process attempt to identify and award benefits to applicatns/programs that demonstrate greater need and where benefits awarded would have a marked and measurable effect on the participant(s) and the improvement of the playing/participation experience.
 

Q: Which Football Financial Aid programs are available to me/my youth program?

A: Football Financial Aid Grants, Corporate Giving programs, Trust & Endowment programs, certain scholarship programs and Grabman Team Uniform Grants. If you are a member of American Youth Football you are eligible to receive these grants in addition to NFL Local agency grants, LISC Grassroots Field Grants, National Championship Travel grants, and AYF Shoes for Study Awards.
 

Q: What is the deadline to apply for Football Financial Aid Programs?

A: Each grant program has its own application window, eligibility requirements/criteria and deadlines, check each grant programs application for specifics.
 

Q: How do you determine who receives Football Financial Aid?

A:Award determinations are based on several factors including but are not limited to; need, previous receipt of aid, order of application and applicants ability to effect proper distribution of award.
 

Q: Who determines who receives benefits and the amount of benefits received for Football Financial Aid Programs?

A: Determinations of the suitability of recipients and pecuniary value of awards are made by American Youth Football, administrators and/or trustees of Trust and/or endowment programs, creators of corporate giving programs and in certain instances the donor of large gifts.
 

Q: When and how will i receive my requested aid?

A: Certain grant award determinations are made on a rolling basis others are made during specific consideration windows. Award determinations may be significantly delayed due to the volume of requests and our ability to process and fund all the deserving requests we receive, please be patient and we will notify you if and when a determination is made to award you a grant or any other program benefits.
