We will miss you Thomas Herrion

Thomas Herrion “Big T”, 23, an offensive line guard for the San Francisco 49er’s and a native of Fort Worth, Texas, was an active Board of Director’s member of American Youth Football Southwest Region-Texas.

Thomas passed away on August 20th, 2005, shortly after a pre-season game between the San Francisco 49er’s vs. the Denver Broncos.

Thomas joined American Youth Football as a Board Member in March of 2005, before the World League’s season began.  In July of 2005, Thomas participated in an AYF Football Camp at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Thomas gave the youths instructions on the game of football and he delivered words of encouragement to them.

The Southwest Region President, Byron Williams, and Membership Director, Preston Taylor, will dearly miss Thomas.  Williams said, “Thomas spoke to the youths with so much passion and conviction.  He loved to motivate the youths and encourage them.  He also spoke to the youths regarding believing in themselves and setting goals.”

American Youth Football’s motto is “Giving Back.”  Thomas Herrion has defined that (Giving Back) and a lot more.  We will truly miss Big “T”.
