Steve began coaching for his fathers
youth team in 1970 after an injury cut his career short. His youth
football coaching record includes 415 wins, 12 Superbowl titles. Under
Steve, the North Dade ( Fla. ) Optimists won 155 games. His high school
coaching includes Pace, where he won a Division III state title, and
Pembroke Pines. Steve has won at least one championship every decade of
his 34 years of coaching. Success in the coaching ranks has been
overshadowed by Steve's untiring devotion to the thousands of youngsters
in South Florida Youth Football. Steve first served as secretary to the
organization in 1994. Soon his leadership was recognized and Steve was
appointed president. He has made a difference in many young lives.
