Giving Back is the mission of AYF, and as such, we are immensely proud of our existing partners and groups that help support our program. In conjunction with special giving back programs, AYF and NFL celebrities teamed up to teach positive lessons including the likes of Priest Holms, Anthony Munoz, Trent Green, Joe Montana and more! Through these events, AYF hopes to spread the mission while offering hope, help and results to nearly a million boys and girls across the nation.
2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (www.kraftbowl.org)
The Bowl Game Association has partnered with AYF to encourage AYF teams nation wide to fight hunger. The 2012 game will include interactive components with teams from Northern California.
The not-for-profit San Francisco Bowl Game Association has been the driving force behind the Bowl game since its inception in 2002. In that time, the game, played at San Francisco’s AT&T Park, has generated nearly $130 million in economic impact for the City & County of San Francisco. In concert with its partners Glide Memorial Church, St. Anthony's Dining Room and the San Francisco Food Bank, the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl has donated one meal to each partner organization for every ticket sold the past two years. Several of college football’s most storied programs have participated in the contest, formerly known as the Emerald Bowl. They include onetime national champions USC, Miami and Florida State, plus California, Boston College, UCLA, Oregon State and Utah.
Kraft Fight Hunger Program
AYF partnered with Kraft in the campaign, “The Huddle to Fight Hunger.” Kraft brought their existing program to AYF to see how we could spread the message of fighting hunger to AYF members and their communities. Across the country AYF communities collaborated with NFL players and Feeding America to teach the kids about the importance of Giving Back.
