AYF FORMS PARTNERSHIP WITH NAYS
American Youth Football, Inc. (AYF) has recently
partnered with the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) to expand
the AYF program philosophies and support structure to serve youth with
top-quality youth football opportunities. There are two key components
to the relationship. They include providing an effective, easy to
administer coach training program and simplified access to the most
comprehensive screening and criminal background check program available
in the nation that is geared specifically to volunteer coaches in youth
sports.
NAYS is eager to support these efforts
specifically through its National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA)
program and its screening and criminal background check program by
working with Southeastern Security Consultants, Inc. (SSCI).
"We are very excited to have the leadership and
expertise of AYF to assist in the development of an AYF/NYSCA Volunteer
Youth Football Coach Training videotape aimed at addressing the needs of
youth football players to be incorporated into NYSCA training and
certification programs," said Fred Engh, President and CEO of NAYS.
Joe Galat, President of AYF, said, "There are over
250,000 AYF players that are under the direct supervision of 50,000
volunteers. There is no question that without these volunteers, there
would be no AYF programs. Our commitment to youth football includes
providing our league affiliates with the best tools available to make
sure that the coaches are screened and trained on how to provide the
best football experience possible to every player regardless of their
ability. This partnership is aimed to deliver on that objective and with
25 years experience and having all the resources in place, NAYS is the
best and most logical choice for our partner."
All AYF affiliates that request the use of the
AYF/NYSCA Volunteer Youth Football Coach Training program for their
volunteer coaches will become NYSCA Chapters. This provides them access
to all the rights and privileges provided by NYSCA, including access to
the NYSCA Background Screening Programs.
