You can change the World
June 2006
When NFLPA’s Gene Upshaw and NFL’s
Paul Tagliabue formed the Youth Football Fund they suggested it would
make a difference at the grass roots
level.
When David Stern the NBA
Commissioner launched the “NBA Cares
Charity Initiative”, the media suggested the end result could
change the world. The power of sports
then appears to be in the confluence of celebrity.
How can a local volunteers vision of
social responsibility channel that power of sports to accomplish a better
world? We all know of Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, and
Henry Ford. Now in the twenty first century, sadly the passing of time finds
those names on Bagel shops, Currency portraits, and Museums.
Not so very long ago, two brothers
built a weird machine that stayed aloft for a short flight. A lady boarded a
bus and decided to sit down in the front section of the bus. A truck driver
paid to record a song for his mother. A young student volunteered to learn
the filing system in order to help his High School Librarian. The Wright
Brothers, Rosa Parks, Elvis Presley, and Bill Gates changed the modern
world. Who can say for certain what really motivated them. I’ll bet you,
each had someone who cared enough to put a hand on their shoulder look them
in the eye and say “I believe you can make your dream come true”.
Some youngster in your League could
be the next world changer.
At American Youth Football our
vision is to enable you have the time and finances to treat every child like
he can change the world. We pledge to value your time through user friendly
services. The www.myayf.com (member panel) allows you to eliminate
repetitive time consuming paper work. AYF’s low registration fees, AYF
Locker Room central purchasing, and your Regional Championships
Opportunities help you establish and maintain a sound budget. AYF’s concept
“The Circle of Giving Back” can be leveraged in powerful and compelling
ways. You bolster your organization within your community by giving back.
Why have other organizations failed to top American Youth Football’s mission
of Giving Back? Maybe they don’t think they can make a difference.
The power of sports can change the
world. AYF delivers on social responsibility at the community level. The AYF
Locker Room functions as the service arm of American Youth Football. Giving
back begins at the grass roots level. Through Grants, Scholarships,
Sponsorships and Special Needs Youth Programs we are changing our world. Our
pipe dream for the near future is through our
Capital and Endowment Campaign
to offer a state of the art American Youth
Football and Cheer Center
complete with a Hall of Fame Museum,
Fieldturf playing fields, and lodging accommodations for visitors.
The Center will be open 24/7 to youth and volunteers. It could change the
world for all kids with a dream.
