Giving Back
Giving Back is at the heart of AYF's
mission and this is a principle that every volunteer, administrator,
player and sponsor subscribe to.
Giving back is a commitment that we see everyday from professional
athletes, to the tens of thousands of AYF volunteers who give selfless
hours of their time, to the youth who give back to their community via
AYF Community projects and the distinguished members of the Giving Back Wall
of Honor - all are dedicated and committed to enhancing the lives of
our nations youth and enriching their communities.
AYF and its volunteers and sponsors
share the dream that every child who wants to play football or cheer has
the opportunity to, despite financial constraints.
AYF continues to work with its sponsors and America's leading
corporations to lessen the financial barriers that our youth have
previously faced.
AYF is pleased to have "given back" over $13.8 million dollars to
inner city programs. AYF has also donated over $400,000 in athletic
apparel to needy programs including hundreds of new Cheerleading
uniforms to inner-city programs and over $50,000 in sports equipment to
US military families abroad serving our nation.
The Giving doesn't stop there! AYF members also subscribe to our mission
of giving, and WITHIN the AYF community, members leagues donate to other
member leagues and this continues every day! Inter-league donations
include: hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment.
AYF also shows this spirit in special events and programs, the Shining
Stars Getaway, takes inner city youth out of the city and exposes them
to new experiences with dedicated adult leaders and coaches and a safe
environment. In The Kraft Huddle to Fight Hunger, AYF Communities teamed up with Kraft to help donate 25 Million meals to Feeding America.
Always remember that AYF is A COMMUNITY and as a prerequisite to
sponsoring/partnering with American Youth Football, each and every
sponsor is required to contribute a "giving back" component to further
our goal of enhancing opportunities for the kids.
